betPawa has rolled out a KSh 6.7 million grassroots football development initiative, supplying full kits and training equipment to 25 teams across Kenya in a move aimed at strengthening community-level sport.
The programme directly benefits 575 players drawn from both men’s and women’s teams, each receiving a complete playing kit comprising jerseys, shorts, and socks. Beyond uniforms, the initiative also enhances training infrastructure with the distribution of 100 match balls—four per team—alongside 575 training bibs and 75 pairs of goalkeeper gloves to support structured practice sessions and match readiness.
The intervention is designed not only to equip teams, but to raise standards across grassroots football, where limited resources often constrain preparation and performance. With basic training tools now available, teams are expected to run more organised sessions, improve discipline, and elevate overall competitiveness.
Across the participating clubs, the impact is already visible. Teams such as Masimba Queens FC, Kibagare Girls FC, and Kangeta Youth FC are among the beneficiaries now stepping onto the pitch fully kitted and better prepared.
The initiative spans diverse regions and competitive levels, bringing together clubs such as Maungu All Stars FC, Majengo FC, Mwendo FC, Kisii Wazee FC, Kapkorech Starlet, St Josephus Nakuru, Maringo United, Lugusi FC, Youngboys FC, Livewire FC, Panga FC, Black Stallion FC, UNESCO FC, Kangami FC, Gategi Ladies, HCE FC, Falcon Queens, Arrows of Kajembe Starlets, Atletico Kangemi SC, Kick It Kenya FC, Shimanzi FC, and Nyanturago Town Boys FC.
Despite their different geographies and playing levels, the teams share a common thread—commitment to the game and a belief in football as a pathway to opportunity. The distribution reflects a broader effort to make development more inclusive, ensuring that both men’s and women’s teams benefit equally from structured investment.
While elite competitions often define the public face of football, initiatives like this highlight the foundation of the sport: grassroots environments where discipline, teamwork, and consistency are first built.
