SportPesa has celebrated three jackpot winners during an unveiling event held in Bomet County, where the company awarded more than KSh 40 million in total winnings and hosted a community exhibition match as part of its ongoing support for grassroots sports development.
Leading the winners was Patrick Chepkwony from Konoin, Bomet County, a Mathematics and Physics teacher based in Kericho, who won KSh 18.6 million after correctly predicting all 13 matches in the Mega Jackpot Pro. A long-time user of the SportPesa platform, Chepkwony said he relies on careful analysis, including multiple betting platforms and SportPesa’s SP Score feature, before placing his bets.
He said discipline and probability guided his approach, drawing inspiration from former Mega Jackpot winner Cosmos Korir, also from the broader Bomet region, who previously won over KSh 200 million. Upon confirmation of his win, Chepkwony shared the news with his Head of Department while still at school. He plans to invest part of the winnings in dairy farming and constructing a family home.
The second winner, Stephen Odhiambo from Siaya County, a Nairobi-based mechanic working in Kariokor, walked away with over KSh 17.3 million after correctly predicting all 13 Midweek Jackpot matches. Odhiambo, who describes himself as a casual bettor, said he places his bets and waits patiently for results. He intends to expand his garage business and improve his family’s living standards and education.
The third winner, surveyor Pius Kipsang from Nandi County, received a KSh 5.2 million bonus after missing just one match in the 17-match Mega Jackpot. He said he plans to use part of the winnings to improve his family’s quality of life.
Speaking during the unveiling, SportPesa Public Relations and Advertising Executive Deborah Chipkirui Maina congratulated the winners and urged Kenyans to embrace responsible betting.
“Betting should strictly remain a form of entertainment and should never involve rent, school fees, or food money. We also encourage responsible gaming and strictly discourage underage betting,” she said.
The event concluded with a community exhibition match between Chaptalal FC, a team supported under Tujiamini, SportPesa’s CSR initiative, and Magengi FC from Merigi in Bomet County. The winning side received KSh 30,000, two footballs, and a full set of kits, while the runners-up took home KSh 20,000 and a set of kits.
