The upcoming Critical Minerals Summit (CMA) 2023 to be held in South Africa will feature diverse presentations from leaders and experts in various technical fields.

The summit aims to facilitate discussions on Africa’s critical mineral opportunities and the development of new deals. It will focus on the challenges affecting the industry’s growth and explore ways in which the continent can establish future mineral value chains.

The CMA 2023 technical presentations will provide stakeholders with valuable insights to make informed investment decisions, as global interest in Africa’s critical minerals continues to grow.

Under the theme “Establishing the Critical Mineral Value Chains of the Future,” the presentations will delve into the complexities of the industry and highlight Africa’s strategic role in supplying the global market.

The Critical Minerals Africa Summit will take place from October 17 to 19, 2023, at the Cape Town International Convention Center, coinciding with Africa’s significant energy event, the African Energy Week (AEW). The presentations during the conference will focus on promoting sustainable partnerships, policies, and projects in raw materials, as well as strengthening global critical mineral supply chains.

Some of the presentations include discussions on the futures of SADC Critical Minerals, low carbon supply chains, global supply and demand updates for critical minerals, the AfricaMaVal Project update, Steenkampskraal as the world’s rare earth and thorium hotspot, and building local battery industries in South Africa.

CMA and AEW are expected to host over 5,000 combined delegates, providing opportunities for participation in country spotlights, investor roundtables, and in-focus sessions on the energy transition, energy security, resource supply chains, and new technologies.

Since the launch, global investors and buyers have seen significant interest in CMA, all of which are looking to sign deals in Africa’s mineral space.
